A Historical Note
The origin of the Capital is in Ancient Greece. Although many styles were developed by the Romans, French, and an assortment of other architectural cultures, all Classic Capitals find their historical roots in three Orders originally developed by the Greeks. The Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian Orders first began to appear around 500 B.C. in Athens. It was, however, the Romans who developed the most elaborate and finely detailed versions of these Orders, versions that remain popular in architectural design today.
The Classical Capitals contained in this catalog are primarily of Greek and Roman design. Our collection is a composite of the most beautifully ornamental styles developed by these two cultures. All Classical Capitals are crafted out of the finest workmanship available in the modern world.
